Episode Duscae (Demo)

Episode Duscae was a demo released back in 2015. It was included with copies of Final Fantasy Type-0 for the PS4 and XBOX One.

In Episode Duscae, Prompto has wrecked the Regalia and you must raise enough Gil to pay Cindy for repairs. The player wanders around Duscae staying at camps, fighting wildlife and magitek troopers, going on tours, and eventually taking on Deadeye near Wiz’s Chocobo Post for a hefty reward. You can even gain the help of Ramuh by entering Fociaugh Hollow.

Killing Deadeye and claiming the reward ends the demo. After which Cindy will finish fixing the Regalia and you’ll drive off.

Combat is slightly different then it ended up being in the main game. The interface is also different from the main game as well. Unfortunately some of the lines between the bros were not voiced and were just on screen text in the demo.

Character models in the main game saw little if no change from the demo. The demo did use different lighting though from the main game resulting in more of a yellowed glow to things.

The mushroom tour “Up Close and Personal” ended up in the main game from the demo though there were some slight changes to it, including the name of the tour:

A Duscaen Delicacy Tour:

In this version of the tour Prompto is collecting mushrooms for Ignis, and not to lure a Catoblepas near for a photo.

There’s also a short side quest called “Co-Stars” where the guys take a group photo while a meteor shower goes on behind them. This quest can be unlocked after doing the “Alstoronomy” Tour with Ignis. Ignis will say it was a pity the others couldn’t be there to see the shower and Noctis says they can all come back tomorrow to see it.
