Clothes in Final Fantasy XV are more then just for looks. They add status effects when worn, from increased health, strength, crit, etc, to providing defense against status ailments and elemental damage.

Prompto, Gladio, and Ignis all get access to eight outfits during the main game. (the jacket and no jacket versions of the three main outfits, and two special suits) They are also able to unlock their respective outfits from their Episodes. (Ignis and Prompto upon completion of their Episode and Gladio upon completing the Score Attack with over 500,000 points) Two outfits were added from Collaborations with other games, the Glamour Prisms and Medjay Assassin’s Robes. The Medjay Assassin’s Robes are no longer able to be acquired since the Assassin’s Festival ended.

The Thermal Suit and Magitek Exosuit are special suits that cover the entire model. Since these two suits are available to all four characters I’ll go over them briefly here.

The Thermal Suit is found in Lestallum on a bench near the EXINERIS Power Plant. It provides immunity to fire.

The Magitek Exosuit is a suit that makes the wearer invulnerable to any damage.

You have access to it from the start of the game.

The suit provides invulnerability until the gauge depletes. The gauge depletes with any damage taken. Once the gauge is depleted, the wearer will no longer be invulnerable. You can continue to wear the suit after the gauge is depleted but it will no longer keep you safe from harm.

The gauge takes 20 hours to refill. (real time not in game time)
