Prompto’s hobby in game is Photography. As you go through the game he’ll take pictures of things going on. Whether you’re standing around doing nothing, meeting new npcs, or fighting in battle, Prompto is documenting your whole journey.

The more pictures he takes the more his skill levels up. There are ten levels in game and each level gives you a perk. You’ll get various filters, and techniques with each new level. The level ten perk will give Prompto the ability to take selfies in battle.

Sometimes while driving around in the Regalia Prompto will ask you who you would like him to take more pictures of. Your choices at first will be limited to “Ignis, Gladio, Me (Noctis), or Nothing Really” only once you reach level ten in his photography skill will “You (Prompto)” become a choice

Prompto can also be directed to take photos in game during battles with “Snapshot” (while in control of Noctis) or “Selfie Shot” (while in control of Prompto)

Snapshot will take random pictures during battles. This can be of anything from the enemies being fought, the characters in combat, or even a group selfie shot.

Selfie Shot will be a selfie of Prompto in battle. These seflies can sometimes include the enemies being fought if timed correctly.
