While not part of the main game, Prompto does make an appearance in the VR game Monster of the Deep: Final Fantasy XV.

This game has nothing to do with the main game at all. There is no tie in to the story or anything.

In the game the player is an angler that goes to various fishing spots around Eos fishing up enough fish until you attract the attention of the “boss fish”, meeting characters from FFXV along the way.

The start of the game sees you attacked by a monster fish while out fishing. Cindy finds you by the side of the road, calls for help, and takes you back to your cabin. In between levels you’ll go to your cabin, where you can take up hunts, buy lures, rods, outfits, etc. The player meets Noctis while out fishing for the first fish. Along the way you’ll also meet Nayvth, Prompto, Ignis, and Gladio (in that order) while doing the storyline. Noctis will eventually join up with you again and at the end of the game you finally defeat the fish that attacked you at the start of the game.

Other then that the only time you see the other guys besides Noctis is during the ending credits.
