Prompto gets a different set of weapons to use in Episode Prompto. These weapons are also available to use when you play as Prompto (through character swap) in the main game with the exception of the Audax Blade and the Sagitta Rifle.
In Episode Prompto only Prompto’s Handgun has unlimited Ammo. All other firearms have a set amount of ammo and once they run out Prompto discards the weapon and must find another. In the case of the flare, that stays in the UI but he must find more to use it again.
In Episode Prompto, the weapon UI looks like this:

You can cycle through the weapons you currently have by pressing the D-Pad in the direction of the corresponding weapon:
UP is the Handgun.
RIGHT is the Rapidus SMG, Alea Bazooka, or Sagitta Rifle depending on what you have equipped. In the right slot you can only equip one of those at a time. If you have a SMG and pick up a Bazooka you will drop the SMG for example.
DOWN is the Lumen Flare
LEFT is the Audax Blade
An interesting thing to note is that a few of the weapons Prompto picks up have barcodes on them as well. The only weapons that don’t are the Sagitta Rifle and the Audax Blade.

When aiming with the Rapidus SMG, Sagitta Rifle, or Alea Bazooka, the crosshairs will turn green when you are targeting an enemies weak spot.
Rapidus SMG
The Rapidus SMG (Sub Machine Gun) fires 100 rounds before it runs out ammo. It’s a fast firing weapon. You ready the weapon with the L1 trigger, aim with the right analog, and fire with R1. They even added the detail of it expelling the empty shells. When aiming the crosshairs will turn from orange to green when you are targeting an enemies weak spot.

Alea Bazooka
The Alea Bazooka is a rocket launcher. It fires three shots before it runs out. It’s a much slower weapon then the SMG. You ready the weapon with the L1 button, aim with the right analog stick, and fire with the R1 trigger. Unlike the SMG though you must wait for the Aiming Reticle to “lock on” to the target before you can fire. It does actually fire rockets out the front.

Sagitta Rifle
The Sagitta Rifle is a Sniper Rifle. It has 4 shots before it runs out. You ready the rifle with the L1 trigger, aim with the right analog stick, and fire with R1. When aiming and firing, the weapon goes into a scope mode as if you were looking through the scope to fire.
It does actually fire a projectile but it has no actual bullet model, it just looks like a shot traveling through the air at high speed.
Lumen Flare
The Lumen Flare is a grenade. It has five charges before it’s expended. Unlike the firearms, each flare you find does stack so you can increase your charges. You ready the flare with the R1 Trigger, use the left analog stick to aim, and then release the R1 Trigger to throw the flare. When aiming it you’ll see a large blue half sphere, that is where the flare will land.

Audax Blade
The Audax Blade is a knife. This is on Prompto’s person from the start of the Episode. When wielded it extends out into a full blade, and folds back up when not in use. To use it simply press left on the d-pad and hit circle to swing it. The blade has an electrical current running along the blade side of it.

You can see the electricity running along the bottom of the blade. Most visible in the bottom left hand corner. It runs along the whole “blade” side.
